Learning To Love

when I was nine
I smiled and played
enjoyed life as it was good
sometimes I went fishing
and caught sunfish until it was dusk
I can remember going down to the park
and riding the merry-go-round
life for me was good
here I was playing marbles,
catching lizards
and finding all the trouble that I could
Isn't that what kids do?
think about it for a moment
find that imagination that children do
accept people for who they are
without any conditions
without any hate
and open your heart
and learning to love
